Smiler's Bones, by Peter Lerangis, is a story about an Eskimo named Minik. Minik and five other Eskimos, including Minik's father Qisuk ("Smiler"), travel from Greenland to America with the explorer Robert Peary. In America, the Eskimos become a living exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Within ninety-six days, four of the six Eskimos, including Qisuk, are dead. Not long after, one leaves America to return to Greenland, leaving Minik to be the only Eskimo living in New York.

In Spy High: Mission Three by A. J. Butcher, Jennifer Chen, a member of the Bond team, runs away from Deveraux Academy to her home in Undertown, Los Angeles, in order to get revenge on a street gang called the Serpents. When Jennifer was only eight, the Serpents killed her family in front of her, because her father refused to pay for protection. The Serpents left her behind as an example to others. Other than Jake Daly who goes after Jennifer, the rest of the Bond team travels to the Stoker Institute to learn about a fatal new drug called Drac.

In Spy High Mission Two: Chaos Rising, by A. J. Butcher, the members of the Bond Team, a group made up of six talented teenage secret agents who attend Deveraux Academy, are determined to win the Sherlock Shield. The Sherlock Shield is a prestigious award that would place them in Deveraux Academy's Hall of Fame. To win this award they will have to face the Solo Team, their archrivals, in a tough competition. Outside of Deveraux Academy, however, there are more important issues at hand.

A Crack in the Line, by Michael Lawrence, is a story about two sixteen-year-olds, Alaric and Naia, who discover that they are living in parallel universes. In these parallel universes, they are both living almost the exact same life. They share the same thoughts, moments, and they even look alike. Only one major difference exists between their lives, other than the fact that Alaric is a boy and Naia is a girl. Alaric's mother died in a train crash two years earlier, while Naia's mother survived the disaster.

Spy High, Mission One, is a story about six teenagers who are selected for this year's Bond Team at Deveraux Academy, commonly referred to as Spy High by its students. It is not just any normal high school, but a place where gifted teenagers are trained to be secret agents. Deveraux Academy may appear ordinary from the outside, but the football game in progress is only a realistic hologram, and much of the school is located underground.

Cirque Du Freak, by Darren Shan, is a story about a boy named Darren who steals a tarantula from a vampire in an illegal freak show. It bites his friend Steve, who becomes unconcious. In order to get the antidote to save Steve's life, Darren must make an important decision. What he decides will change his life forever.
