Spy High, Mission One, is a story about six teenagers who are selected for this year's Bond Team at Deveraux Academy, commonly referred to as Spy High by its students. It is not just any normal high school, but a place where gifted teenagers are trained to be secret agents. Deveraux Academy may appear ordinary from the outside, but the football game in progress is only a realistic hologram, and much of the school is located underground. The Bond Team is having trouble with a virtual reality test, which puts them through a scenario in which they have to divert a psychopath's plan to conquer the world. They have three chances to pass the test, and each time the situation varies. After failing the test twice due to their incompatibility, the Bond team is transported to the Wildscape, a protected area consisting of forests, for a bonding experience. This experience is not what it seems, and the Bond Team will have to use what they have learned from Deveraux Academy to survive.

Opinion:

Spy High, Mission One, was a very exciting action/adventure book. A. J. Butcher used a good variety of characters, with interesting personalities, and a very creative plot. Although the story was a little slow starting out, the rest of the book made up for it with its thrilling fast-paced events. The futuristic objects in the story were also creative and made this book even more exciting. I would suggest this book to anyone who is interested in reading a page-turner full of action.
