Ever since the death of Betsy’s mother, her life begins to fall apart. She is forced to quit private school and move to the public school in her town, leaving behind all her friends. Her father begins to drink more and stops taking care of the house. And worst of all, he gets a new girlfriend, Abbie, who starts to try to infiltrate their lives. During a fight with her dad, Betsy learns that her mom was suffering from depression and may have committed suicide, and she starts to ask more questions about her mom’s life.
