Swim That Rock was a rather interesting book. It is about a boy named Jake whose dad went missing after a huge storm. The Italian-American Club is threatening to take his diner away if they dont pay ten thousand dollars by the end of the month. With the support of local quahoggers, family, and friends, he tries to save the diner. Although he did not get the ten thousand dollars, one simple act of kindness saved the diner for jake and his mother.

In Say It Ain’t So by Josh Berk, Lenny is trying hard to help his friend, Mike, make the middle-school baseball team as a catcher while competing against the school bully, Davis. Unfortunately Mike only makes it in as a backup catcher while Davis makes it in as the main catcher. Unexpectedly, Davis gets busted for stealing a phone and hiding it in his shin guards. Davis denies he did anything wrong, but the coach does not believe Davis. Other Mike, Lenny’s other friend, decides to start hanging out with Davis and learns that Davis continuously denies he stole the phone.

All Our Pretty Songs by Sarah McCarry was a book about two girls who grow up like sisters.  They have completely different personalities but neither have a father.  Aurora is beautiful and outgoing, while the narrator keeps to herself and dresses however she wants.  The girls have been best friends forever, and then Jack comes.  Aurora has already dealt with too much loss and can't stand to lose her best friend as well.  This is a story about relationships, friendships and how to balance them all.

Awakening, by Lauren Ashely, is the story of how a quiet, average girl named Emma learns that she is not who she thinks she is. This story begins when a hot, new guy moves to town named Connor. Connor immediately takes interest on her and begins to hit on her. They begin to see each other and end up going to a lake with their friends. They move away from the rest of the group, and he gives her a gift, a bracelet with a little crystal in the middle. She thought was that it was a normal bracelet, until the jewel started to glow.

The Break-Up Artist by Philip Siegel is a truly amazing book about teenage romance, but in the single friend's point-of-view.  Becca is a junior in high school with a rather unusual after school job. She spends her time thinking up new ways to break up couples for her clients. After a cute new guy moves to her school during her eighth grade year, her childhood best friend, Huxley,  ditches her for the popular new guy, Steve.  Suddenly, their once seemingly unbreakable childhood friendship dissolves into Huxley's newfound social rising.
