LitPick Review
Feo is the star of this wild adventure through Russia. She and her mother teach domesticated (and often mistreated) wolves how to fend for themselves when their masters cast them aside. Not everyone in Russia values a wild wolf, however, and when the violent General Rakov kidnaps Feo’s mother, Feo joins forces with a young boy in Rakov's army, her wolves, and a village of children to start a revolution that will change Russia and hopefully save her mother. Feo has a plan, her wolves and followers ready to take action, but the odds are not in her favor. General Rakov has never met a soul that hasn't groveled at his feet, but then, he's never met Feo.
Opinion:
I enjoyed reading The Wolf Wilder because of the fairy-tale, anything-can-happen setting, because of Feo's likable and courageous heart and because of the intense adventure thrust upon her. The stakes are so high that if Feo puts one foot wrong, she and thousands of other Russians will die under Rakov's hand. This book was a fun and exciting read, sure to please anyone with a little imagination.
