LitPick Review
Twelve days of Christmas Murder and Mayhem takes place at Cheatham Castle. The story follows Miss Marble, an amatuer sleuth and one of the guests at the castle’s 500 year anniversary celebration. However, what Miss Marble thought would be a nice little vacation where she could simply hear the latest gossip, turns into a murder investigation after one of the other guests attending the anniversary is killed. Miss Marble jumps into action, hoping to catch the killer before the police do and before the killer can strike again. But nothing is as it seems at Cheatham Castle.
Opinion:
At the beginning of the story I found myself daydreaming while reading, but as I went along, the story became more interesting. The reason for my daydreaming is because at the beginning of the story there is so much description and not a lot else. Another thing I didn’t like about the story is that it starts out from the point of view of one character who really doesn’t have much of a part in the rest of the story as he’s only ever mentioned a few times afterwards. One thing that I liked about this story is that the author leaves most of the book in mystery. For example, the author never leaves any clues or hints that could help the reader even try to guess who the murderer is. I also liked the unexpected twist at the end. This kept me on my toes and wanting to know more.
