Leslie Moore is struggling after dealing with the loss of her twin sister. She is barely getting through her senior year at St. Benedict High School. Her relationship with her boyfriend and parents is not great, and to make things worse, bones of a woman are discovered at the river where all of her terror had once began. There are sightings of a ghost haunting the Abbey, which is located near the river. This sends Leslie and her friends back to events that had occurred last Halloween. None of these teenage girls are prepared for what they will find. After a charming and good-looking college boy moves to town, a girl goes missing and the sheriff suspects the new boy is hiding something. Leslie thinks the Devereaux family is connected; they are well-respected and considered the wealthiest family in town. Can Leslie forget about her past and ignore current events? This is a dark and emotional tale about fighting inner demons and making hard decisions. This book shows how life can be if the wrong people are given money and power. The story includes secrets and murder. Not recommended for readers under seventeen or fair of heart.

This is a book about secrets, murder, and dealing with past decisions. Leslie has become a different person after losing her twin sister and keeping quiet about her involvement with Beau Devereaux's death from last Halloween. She used to play things safe and knew exactly who she was, but after learning about Beau's sick desires and what he did at the river last school year, Leslie is finding herself hanging out with people she would never associate with and and lies flow more naturally from her mouth than ever before. Bones of a woman are found at the river where haunting past events have taken place. Rumor has it Gage, Beau's father, knows who she is. If you have read River of Ashes, you know exactly what Gage is capable of. He will do everything in his power to protect his family name, including making sure Leslie and her friends are financially cared for in exchange for their silence from last year's Halloween occurrence. The new college kid who moves into town, Luke, is a charming and handsome fellow. Everyone seems to love him, but is he too good to be true? The sheriff keeps an eye on him, determined to solve these unexpected murders from the past and the present. The Devereaux family affects the entire town of St. Benedict, and their history is dark and cloudy. Mental illness seems to run in their past and a longing for power and a proper image to the public drives them. With many twists and turns, River of Wrath will keep you on your toes. Just when you think you've figured out who the killer is, you will be jolted with surprise. Filled with suspense and eeriness, Alexandrea Weis and Lucas Astor fill the reader with horror from head to toes. A murder mystery and psycho thriller all in one book. Not as graphic as book one, but just as dark.
