Gods of Guardians is a book by R.W. Dove, who tells the story about a boy named Arthur and his friends who discover the mountains of Mekek. Arthur was born in the kingdom of Travek. He’s always been a little more odd than others around him. Arthur’s family knew that he was a little different. He has always liked adventures. However, on his 18th birthday, something happened that would change his life forever.
Opinion:
When I chose this book, the thing that drew me to it was the book’s cover. I really like that the cover shows exactly what the book is about because the book is a fantasy book and they are exploring the mountains of Mekek. However, I do like the plot overall because it's a solid plot and it gets the reader into the book.
However, there are some things in this book I didn’t like. I feel like in the beginning, the book kind of wandered off to another story about a girl named Amela who was a slave living in a cell in a castle. I also felt like there wasn’t really any emotion in this book. It just felt kind of neutral.
However, I liked how the plot was interesting and unique compared to other fantasy books I've read because it's fantasy but not too unrealistic. Another thing I liked were the traits that Arthur possessed. He was adventurous and he kept the group together. Sometimes they would wander off and he would make sure they wouldn’t get distracted.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy books.
