Fell possesses the power of the Sight, which allows him to read and control the thoughts of other Lera, or animals. It also gives him the ability to glimpse the future. In one of his visions, he is told that he must help a human child, who assumes to be a boy. This boy is, in fact, a girl disguised as a boy. Her name is Alina, and she is under the impression that she is a changeling child, and that she is disguised as a boy for her protection from the goblins. When she discovers a plot to have her killed, she runs away, up the mountain and out onto the ice field. There she meets Fell, who discovers that she is the boy from his vision, and they begin to talk with their minds. Fell discovers that he must help Alina fulfill her destiny, and they start on a long journey.

Opinion:

I absolutely LOVED this book. The author made me feel like I was a part of the book, and I didn't want to put it down. There are a few main characters in this book. Alina, who posed as a boy for quite a few years of her life, is a stubborn, compassionate girl, who forms a bond with the lone black wolf Fell. Her friend Catalin, who she meets later in the book, is a kind young man, who is slightly afraid of Fell. The writer made them seem real, and I liked their personalities, and their individuality. The author left room for a 3rd book, but no loose ends. The vocabulary was appropriate for all ages. This was one of the most interesting books that I've read, and I think that it was better than his first book. I would definitely recommend this book to others, because it is an adventure romance novel, and it was captivating for the entire journey.
