Gemma and Harrison have made it out of 1393 England alive, and now are preparing to spend the entire summer together. Despite the stress Gemma must go through to fight for Harrison (who just happens to be the only outsider who knows the family's time-traveling secret), the summer starts out all right. That is, until a stranger, Gabe, visits Gemma on the beach, and later claims to be her father. She is defiant to the idea, because it also suggests that the people who raised her are kidnappers and murderers. But when her parents jeopardize her boyfriends' existence, Gabe takes Gemma under his wing, and teaches her how to use her powers to go back in time and rescue Harrison. In this exhilarating sequel to the Time Spirit Trilogy, Pearl will keep you thoroughly engaged until the very last sentence.

Opinion:

I am officially addicted to the Time Spirit Trilogy! I literally could not put the book down. I read the entire thing in less than two days! Don't get me wrong, Pearl's first installment in the series was fantastic, but this was far more gripping and suspenseful. One thing I didn't like as much was the little foreshadowed details that were forgotten by the last page. Whether they come into play in the final installment, I'm not sure. But other than that confusing factor, the book was phenomenally engaging. I would recommend this book for ages 12 and up, because of certain language. I'd also recommend reading Pearls' first in the series, Golden Blood, before reading this, otherwise it may seem confusing.
