In the book The Bird with the Broken Wing, DL Richardson tells how Jet finds the secret of purgatory. This fantasy story is set in present day and begins when blue-eyed Jet tries to kill herself with alcohol and sleeping pills. When she wakes up, she finds herself in purgatory. She then meets Rachel and Ben, and she is given a journal. She escapes obstacles known as shadows or ghosts, and finds an art room with an eerie aura. Will Jet find out the secret of purgatory or will she fail? Read The Bird with the Broken Wing by DL Richardson to find out!

Opinion:

I recommend the book The Bird with the Broken Wing. I enjoyed it because it is suspenseful. For example, the shadows or ghosts intervene with Jet’s life in purgatory. There are parts when things are so dangerous you want to keep reading to find out if Jet, Rachel, and Ben will survive in purgatory.

I really enjoy how each character has hidden secrets of their own. I enjoyed being able to see these personal qualities in these book characters. I also enjoyed the twisted ending and how descriptive it was. The only thing I really disliked about the book is that it is a little confusing to read. I would rate The Bird with the Broken Wing four out of five stars and encourage readers fourteen to fifteen to check out this book.
