This book is about a Connemara pony named Darcy.  Darcy was one of the strongest ponies; she got even stronger when she drank milk from two mares, her mother’s and another mare’s whose filly died. When Darcy was taken away from her home she was sold to a nice little (family of five) called the McKenna’s.  After Shannon, the eldest daughter, raced Darcy against Embarr, a tall and handsome horse their lives changed forever.

Opinion:

I have never read one of the Horse Diaries but this book was incredible and I bet the other books are incredible too.  I thought this book was very interesting because it had sad parts, happy parts and exciting parts.  It makes a book a lot more interesting when it has lots of different parts in the book instead of just one of those parts. I think people who love horses will love the Horse Diaries series.
