LitPick Review
This book is about three children visiting Italy while their dad works. One day when it is raining and windy, they walk into a strange store they had never noticed before. The owner was very kind to them and gave them each a chance to pick out of a bag of toys. He also gave them a book. The two girls got rings, but the boy only got dice. At the same time, three children further back in the past are making their way to the rings and dice that really belonged to them. As the three kids visiting learn that their new toys are magic, they wind up with a faun, a stone lion, and a talking cat. Then all six of them collide - you'll have to read the book yourself to find out what happens.
Opinion:
I liked the book Through the Skylight because of the characters. Each character got to narrate his/her own parts of the story. Since there were six kids, one could get confused with all the different perspectives. The conflict was very interesting. The story didn't turn out just the way I expected. The clues twisted and turned until the very end of the book. The language stayed on the age level; there were very few bad words. I recommend this book for people 10+.
