Rachel is a young girl that is on a tour of the caverns with her class when she has to use the restroom. She asks the tour guide for directions and begins her walk. She gets three quarters of the way before getting lost. She then sees a light and begins to walk to it. Then the floor falls out from beneath her. She lands in “here,” a land with no name. She finds she has landed on top of someone, a witch named Gertrude. Gertrude learns that Rachel broke her wand when she landed on Gertrude. Rachel asks Gertrude if she is okay and is told that she has to get the wand fixed. Gertrude needs her wand fixed in order to break the land’s curse and make it not Halloween anymore. In “here,” every day is Halloween since the curse began. Rachel and Gertrude must embark on a quest together.

Opinion:

This book was filled with action. I like this book because it was a short read. I could finish it over the course of a few days. I hope the author writes another book in the series so I can read more of Gertrude and Rachel’s adventures.
