Every year on October 31, the witch and warlock children of Transylvania jump on their magic brooms and fly into town to take part in the mortal's Harvests celebration. Although she enjoys the festivities, Abigail - the most precocious little witch of them all - wishes to bring back enough mortal treats to share with all of Transylvania to enjoy all year long! One day, after accidentally slipping into her mother's brewing pot, Abigail comes up with a brilliant plan.

Have you heard of the Switch Witch?  Neither had I before reading this book.  The switch witch is a holiday tradition that seems like a lot of fun.  Children who do not want all of the sweet treats they collect on Halloween can call on the Switch Witch and trade their yummy sweets for some healthier treats or other fun items.

     Trick or Treat: The Story of the Switch Witch and How She Came to Be is an awesome book about Halloween! Young Abigail is a witch who lives in Transylvania where everyone looks forward to Harvest Night. This is the one time of year when witches and warlocks attend the mortals’ extra-fun activities in town. Unfortunately, Abigail can’t stand that the treats run out every year, and some participants go home empty-handed. She wants her friends and family to have sweets too.
