Easter is over, and head couple Rachel Smith and Benjamin Thornton are walking in the garden and discussing their last term at Riverside Academy when their headmistress, Lady Simpson, introduces them to a man from the navy named Mr. Stallion. Strangely, when the man sees the bracelet Rachel is wearing, he nervously states that he is late for a meeting and rushes out. Rachel shakes it off as nothing until she receives a letter from Mr. Stallion, asking her for a late night meeting on campus. When she arrives at the requested spot, he asks her to help him with a sinister deed. Is Mr. Stallion really who he says he is? And should Rachel help him?

Opinion:

Trouble at Riverside Academy is an intriguing book that is perfect for 10-12 year olds looking for a short read. You never know what will happen next. Liam Moiser draws you into the story as he describes Rachel’s feelings about her family, friends, and headmistress. This book will make you cry, laugh, and gasp as Rachel goes on the most intense, nerve-racking journey of her life as she learns when, and whom, to trust.
