Vampires on the Run is a mystery story that keeps the reader guessing!
Ceil & Edgar Waterman are eccentric and world famous authors of a series of books based on a vampire named Count Plasma. They claim they get their stories straight from the vampire himself! After completing their latest book, Transylvania Drip, the Watermans are in desperate need of a quiet getaway. They decide to visit their niece, Ella, in the small and quiet town of Maiden Rock.
Ella and her friends, Quinnie, Ben, and Dominic, quickly begin to notice many strange happenings as soon as the Watermans arrive.
They begin to wonder...is there really a Count Plasma? Could vampires be real? Could Ceil and Edgar actually be vampires themselves?
They make it their mission to find out the answers to these questions, and that's when the suspense really begins!
Readers of mysteries will not be disappointed!
Opinion:
I thought this story was fantastic! The plot had constant twists and turns. Every time I thought I had it figured out, a few pages later something would happen that would obliterate my theory.
There are so many interesting characters, and everyone was well developed. I truly felt like I understood those that lived in Maiden Rock and was entertained by the uniqueness of each resident.
Even when the mystery was solved, I was surprised. I was initially disappointed because I thought the author completely dropped the ball by not explaining the appearance of the mysterious animal that was terrorizing the area. I jumped to a conclusion too quickly. Sure enough, C.M. Surrisi ended the story with a very original and realistic explanation of that as well.
