Being a teenager in love is a wonderful thing; and if you have the bond that Judith and Kevin share, it's a beautiful thing. Even though they are in high school, Judith and Kevin know they want to someday get married and have children together. If they had the chance, they would get married right away, however their Catholic families and their Catholic school would not be happy with that decision. So for now, they are just engaged. But what happens when Judith becomes pregnant in her senior year of high school? Will she be able to finish high school on time? Will her school kick her out for being a pregnant teenager? And what happens when Kevin's parents make him go away to college and try to convince Judith to get an abortion? Set in the late 1970's and the early 1980's, Believe In Me is a story that tells of a Catholic teenagers' struggles with relationships, pregnancy, and many difficult life choices.
Opinion:
Believe In Me was a great book. I had a hard time putting this book down: the characters were so interesting and the plot included many twists and turns that wanted to keep me reading more. I also liked that the author included religious aspects in this book because it added to the plot and the struggles that Judith faced as a teen mom in an all girls Catholic school. I also really liked Judith as the main character. Throughout the book, I felt many emotions for Judith as her relationship with Kevin progressed and the struggles she faced as a pregnant teenager evolved. Overall, this book was a great read and I would strongly encourage anyone to read it. I recommend this book to girls over 14 years of age due to the content of teen drinking and drugs, sexual content, and the talk of pregnancy and abortion.
