Dart is a dog who has lived at Happy Endings Adoption Center for a long time. Now that he's been adopted he'll experience a whole new life. Dart finds himself the center of attention, and the star of the whole family. Boy ( the third grade boy in the family whose real name is Charlie) starts bringing him in to show and tell, and Dart becomes the mascot of the Little Springs Shepherds. Life is great, until a tornado hits Dart's house and his family finds a squirrel. Dart suddenly finds himself being replaced as a favorite. He doesn't really mind until he starts to get in trouble for what his new "sister" Emilia does. Dart simply can't stand it. So he makes a plan called C R U D, Cry, Run, Ummm, Drive. Will Darts plan succeed, or fail, or will he just stay at home and be ignored? Find out in Dart and the Squirrels.

Opinion:

I liked Dart and the Squirrels. I liked how it was written from Dart's point of view. You can really tell that Dart is a funny dog because this is a funny book. It also gets you thinking, is this how dogs think and feel in real life? The book really is for younger readers though. It had large, easy to read type and it wasn't a very long book. I think the genre be humor. So, if your looking for a funny read, look no futher than Dart and the Squirrels. Even if it is a book for younger kids, it's still a good read and will tickle the funny bones of all ages.
