Trollbridge is about a girl, sixteen-year-old Moira, who happens to be a harp prodigy. Pretty and strong-minded, Moira is selected to be one of twelve Dairy Princesses. Every year, the Dairy Princesses travel to Trollholm Bridge to get their pictures taken so that they can have their likenesses carved in butter and displayed on Trollholm Bridge. However, this year, disaster strikes: all of the Dairy Princesses -- except for Moira -- are taken by Aenmarr the Troll in the middle of the photo shoot. Now it is up to Moira to save the girls from the trolls. Meanwhile, the famous Griffson Brothers are taking a break from touring with their rock band. But unfortunately, they, too, are swept away by Aenmarr once they cross the bridge. Will Moira and the Griffson Brothers manage to avoid being troll dinner? Will the Dairy Princesses make it? Opinion:
I loved Trollbridge. One reason is that I play the guitar, so I could relate to the characters. Another reason is that I love fantasy books. It was cool how the author used parts of well-known fairy tales and folk legends to put together this story. Readers will recognize a few different old favorites - "The Three Billy Goats Gruff," for example. A reasonable knowledge of music will improve one's enjoyment of this book. I highly recommend this book to all music fans and to readers who like fairy/folk tales and fantasy books.
