Lumpy Socks
Lumpy Socks

Lumpy Socks is a genuinely fun story that teaches about the seasons in a way that little children can understand. It is geared towards children ages 3-5 years old, just when children are beginning to recognize the changes in their world. The lesson in the story can be used as a tool to engage young children in conversation about things that stresses them and help teach them how to develop coping skills.

Gabby is a preschooler who is just starting to dress herself. She doesn't like wearing certain types of clothing such as her "lumpy socks" for winter. Her mom teaches her when certain socks or shoes, such as sandals, are appropriate in the weather of the changing seasons, and this really helps Gabby to understand why she can't just wear her sandals in the snow, etc. Soon it is summer, and Gabby's mom tells Gabby she can finally wear her sandals and not her lumpy socks. Gabby is thrilled!
