Discovering Ace Stewart by Patrick Stewart is a heart-swelling read into the archives of baseball history. Baseball is a game of strategy, stamina, and stats. Stewart has them all here. Patrick’s great-grand uncle Asa “Ace” Stewart loved baseball, knew baseball, and to Patrick, was baseball in many ways. Ace Stewart was a tenacious and skilled baseball player in an era long before modern major league complexities. The game was less complicated, the players a little grittier, and the opportunity to play took a little more toll on the players themselves.
