W.C. Madden has written more than 50 books and many about baseball. He learned his trade in the U.S. Air Force 49 years ago and has been a professional photojournalist ever since. He has a degree in journalism from Our Lady of the Lake University. Now semi-retired, he's a freelance reporter for the News & Review newspaper in White County, Indiana.
