Thirteen-year-old Charis Parks has five days to save mankind. What she thought was mere mythology has become her reality … she alone must reverse the curse of Pandora’s Jar. If Charis is to fulfill her destiny, she has to face her fears against the darker forces of Hades and the blood-thirsty Erinyes Sisters who help him. Together with the gods and her best friend Gabe, Charis takes a fantastic journey to Pandora’s Jar where she must release the only spirit that remains trapped inside – the spirit of Hope. Or else …
Thirteen year old Charis Parks doesn’t suspect a thing. She thinks Mr. P is a perfectly normal teacher. She thinks that she leads a perfectly normal life.
Charis is a middle school girl with a mother, a father, a brother and two friends, Gabe and Andy. Charis is writing a school play about Pandora's Jar. A museum curator goes missing and is replaced by creepy Mr. Al Ecto. She meets Athena, Hermes and Hades in dreams and slowly finds herself facing her fate - save Pandora's Jar. THe goddess Nike meets Charis after flying into her backpack and hangin around as a keychain. It ends with a message from Zeus in a foggy mirror, saying " I still believe in you."
If thirteen-year-old Charis Parks were normal, that would be a relief to her, the world, and the gods. But sadly for her, the world, and the gods, she isn’t normal. It all starts with a dream.
Charis: The Journey to Pandora's Jar is about an ordinary girl who has strange dreams each night. One night her dream changed, and she met Athena! Athena told Charis that she was destined to save civilization.
When Charis discovers the doll she found in her backpack is Nike, the goddess of Victory, the weirdness begins.
With two parents, Mona and Evan, a teenage brother, and a friend she has had since third grade, Charis Parks seems like a normal girl. She even thinks she is a normal girl! Let's just say that she gets quite the surprise. After finding a little statuette in her backpack, then being told it is really the goddess Nike in a miniature form by the truly lovely Athena from her dreams, and that her favorite substitute teacher, Mr. Papadakis is really Erichthonius, the son of Athena and Hephaestus and (weird alert!) has a snake for a leg, Charis is weirded out!
Charis: Journey to Pandora's Jar is about a 12-year-old girl who is caught up in a quest to keep Pandora's Jar away from Hades. She finds out about the quest when she has a dream from Athena that she is the grace the gods have been waiting for. After that dream, Athena sends Nike to Charis to help her with the quest. Her best friend Gabe comes with her as well. Surprisingly her English teacher, Mr. P, is the God that can come to Earth in perfect human form. A couple of days after Charis had her dream, Hades sends one of the Erniey sisters, Alecto, to Earth to destroy Charis.
