Midnight Alley is the third book in the Morganville Vampires series, which follows the lives of sixteen-year- old Claire Danvers and her friends in Morganville, Texas. Morganville isn't just any college town, though; it's run by vampires. Luckily for her, Claire isn't just any sixteen- year-old genius; she's brave and resourceful enough to stay alive in Morganville, which can be tricky. Now, Claire has signed her loyalty (and basically her life) away to Amelie, the most powerful vamp in town. This so-called Protection, however, may not be as reassuring as it sounds.
Dragonhaven is a first-person narrative story of a teenage boy who lives at a dragon preserve. Most of human society doesn't think much of dragons, so they're no longer around in most of the world. In Dragonhaven, Jake rescues an orphaned baby dragon. He raises the dragon, and realises that dragons are much more than most of the world seems to think. The entire book is written in Jake's voice--the voice of a teenage boy.
Beyond Cool is the second book about Floe Ryan, a thawed "frozen zombie." That's her term for it, but really Floe was preserved after her death (vitrified, or "frozen,") which happened about this time, and then "thawed" a decade later. Even though it's only ten years, things are a lot different. For one thing, Floe's younger sister, Sunny, is now her older sister! Also, people don't drive anymore--they hoverdrive (something Floe's having a bit of a problem with). Teachers and movie stars are computer-generated.
TJ is a fourteen-year-old girl who's having some difficulties fitting in at her new school and adjusting to her new life in the city. TJ's a farm girl, but financial difficulties forced her family to sell the farm and move to a suburb where all the houses are identical. TJ, however, discovers that her typical suburban house, however, is home to something not so typical: a family of Littles. Six-inch- high people who live in the walls. She thinks they're mice at first--but then she meets Elizabeth, a girl a couple of years older than TJ who's running away from her family.
Everything I Needed To Know About Being A Girl I Learned From Judy Blume is an interesting collection of essays by talented authors about how Judy Blume affected their lives. Even now, years after these amazing writers read Judy Blume, she's still popular. This is something that generations of girls can relate to! Judy Blume, through her writing, teaches about all sorts of things, including friendship, relationships, and, well, life. Everybody who reads her work is affected, and they all take different things away from reading about these universal experiences.
