The book Perfect Liars by Kimberly Reid is about a rich, popular girl named Drea, who seems to do everything perfect and right. She soon finds herself in a place where she starts to fall apart after she figures out that her parents are con-artists. When this occurs, Drea takes a bad turn and starts doing naughty things, such as breaking and entering, and making friends with the wrong people. Her brother, who happens to be a police officer, makes her tutor classes at the juvenile delinquent center. She soon finds herself drawn to Xavier, a boy in her juvie class.
The book, “We Know It Was You,” by Maggie Thrash, is about a girl and a boy named Virginia and Benny who belong to a mystery club at their boarding school. The two friends and outcasts look for mysteries to solve. When they witness a cheerleader, named Brittany, throw herself off of a bridge and into the river, Virginia and Benny are the only ones who can solve this mystery and the reasoning behind it.
Gray Zone by Veronica R.Tabares is a book about a girl named Autumn who faces cyberbullying from a website a bunch of guys created. She transfers schools hoping to build a new social life. Her best friend, Sophie, is being bullied by people at school every day, so she transfers to the same school as Autumn.
Shades of Blue by Joyce Scarbrough is a book about a girl named JoJo and a boy named Sam who have been best friends ever since Sam moved in next door as a little kid. As Sam’s personality changes the summer going into freshman year of high school in a way that JoJo doesn’t seem to like, she gets jealous and upset by his actions.
