James Salley turns sixteen on the day that the story begins, and after being bullied almost all day he finds himself on top of a water tower contemplating suicide. His family couldn't even be bothered to stay at their house long enough that morning to wish him a happy birthday! When he notices someone following him, he begins to ask questions he wished he wouldn't have. James is told that he is the Anti-Christ. After he lets that sink in for a while, he notices that it puts a wrench in his plan of Dorian Delaney falling in love with him.

Jett Oxford is the main character who was orphaned as a baby. As a teenager, avoiding social services, the cops and some bad guys keeps her busy, but she wants a future.  Life becomes even more interesting when she answers a help wanted sign in the window of a candy store. She has no idea that she is trapped in a time loop but the cunning she learned as an orphan will be the guiding light when she ends up in the past.

This is a well-written book about a girl's determination to save her friends. The main character, Heart, is a slave who is torn between escaping and saving her own life or saving her new friends. Heart goes through a series of events, including abuse, murders, and trials, all with her friends and new boyfriend at heart. There is a mysterious secret about the glass ceiling, and with a few letters, the help of a boy, and a brave heart, Heart tries to figure it out.

The book, “We Know It Was You,” by Maggie Thrash, is about a girl and a boy named Virginia and Benny who belong to a mystery club at their boarding school. The two friends and outcasts look for mysteries to solve. When they witness a cheerleader, named Brittany, throw herself off of a bridge and into the river, Virginia and Benny are the only ones who can solve this mystery and the reasoning behind it.
