The book that I am reviewing is Autumn Falls by Bella Thorne. It’s a very good book and it kept me reading! There is a moderate amount of mature content like swear words and talk about puberty and dating. I would recommend this book to people in grades 8 and up.

The main character in this book is Autumn Falls. She, her older brother, and their mother just recently moved to Aventura, Florida from Maryland after their father died in a car crash. Autumn starts school in the middle of the year which is hard for her, as you could imagine.

Searching for Silverheels is about a thirteen year old girl named Pearl. She loves the legend of Silverheels, a beautiful and kind dancer girl who appeared in the early 1860s. She appeared at a gold mining camp and nursed the men when an outbreak of smallpox erupted. Unfortunately, suffragette Josie Gilbert believes the opposite, that Silverheels was a thief and a liar. When Josie challenges Pearl to a bet, she accepts. Pearl is determined to win so Josie won’t campaign in her family’s café and scare off customers.

Starting where Beautiful Days leaves off, this book continues the stories of Astrid, Cordelia and Letty in the everyday struggles of their glamourous lives as up and coming stars and bootleggers. Astrid is questioning her hasty marriage to Charlie Grey, as she grows more and more attracted to her bodyguard. After a horrific event leaves her reeling she has to face both men in her life, and make choices that could possibly leave one of them dead.

Written by Jakob Krane with art by Timothy Decker, Lies in the Dust is an informative and haunting work of historical fiction in the form of a short graphic novel. Lies in the Dust is set fourteen years after the infamous Salem Witch Trials of 1692. It provides its reader with an artistic perspective on Ann Putnam Jr.'s public apology for her part in the trials as she expresses shame and remorse for her actions.
