This book is about a girl named Gin, who is an assassin. Gin is trying to retire from being an assassin but gets caught up trying to kill the woman who killed her mother and father. This woman's name is Mab Monroe. Gin starts out by killing Monroe's men and after she kills them she leaves a spider shaped mark, which is her ruin. Monroe hires an assassin to kill Gin because she does not want to lose all her men. While hunting down Monroe, Gin falls in love with a businessman named Owen Grayson. The books explore how Gin deals with all of this and with trying to avenge her parents murder.

Opinion:

I thought that this book was extremely confusing. If I had known that there was a previous novel, I would have read that one first. The author does an okay job with the writing, but it not that impressive. The author could have used more words to describe what is going on in the book. The book was really hard to get into. I had to really force myself to read it. I would not really recommend this book to anybody that I know because wasn't that good. I would recommend that people read the first book of the series before this one
