Written by Jack Prelutsky, The Swamps of Sleethe is a book of poetry aimed at children ages 9-12. The Swamps of Sleethe takes the reader on a journey through space, visiting dangerous planets far from the outer reaches of our solar system. The dark yet comedic poems within the bindings of this book describe the dangers of a universe we've only just begun to explore. The perilous journey ends with "The Strovilean Explorers," a poem that will leave you speechless as you realize the complete and utter truth of it all. Some of the poems even have anagrammatic names for those who enjoy puzzles.

Opinion:

I absolutely recommend this book to those who like poetry and science fiction. Even those who don't like poetry or sci-fi should consider this book for a quick but interesting read. The poems are rather dark and may frighten children below the recommended reading age.
