Nine notes...five notes...five notes...this song plays in Darkis' mind as he searches for the dwarf crown in The Dragon Song by Tracy Hickman. But along the way he meets a dwarf jester who is out for revenge. In this book it is a time when elves rule over humans, so when Darkis and his fellow soldiers capture the dwarf and make him a slave he breaks a spell that all human slaves are under, including Darkis. After the spell is broken the house Darkis lives in collapses and he and his friends must travel north, just like the Darkis of Prophecy. Elves are tracking him because he may be the man in the prophecy. Nobody knows who the man in the prophecy is. If he is will he believe it?

Opinion:

I personally did not like the book. It was very confusing and I did not understand what was happening in the book most of the time. There were some parts where I sort of understood, but overall it was very hard to read. At the beginning it seems more like the climax than the exposition. Also it has a lot of blood in it. I would recommend this book to the people who love and understand fantasy. The Dragon Song is a bloody adventurous fantasy. I would also recommend it to people who enjoy the hacking of limbs and killings.
