This topsy turvy mystery follows the young Tabitha Crum, who gets a letter one day at school. She takes it home to her terrible parents and best friend, a mouse named Pemberly after her favorite book character, and discovers her parents are going on a trip. She will be left as a washer girl at an orphanage while her parents tour the world. Before her fate is sealed, however, the letter is opened. Tabitha discovers she, along with 5 other children are invited to the home of the Countess of Windermere. She discovers herself in a real life version of her favorite mystery novels. This book is filled with many mysteries that you never see coming. Try and find out what will happen to Tabitha, her mouse, and new friends when they encounter the quirky and quite mysterious Countess who carries knives in her purse and seems unscathed after witnessing death. In a mix between Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Sherlock Holmes this thrilling new book will keep you on your toes.
Opinion:
In this book you never know what will happen. It is full of secrets and things you can never expect. It is one of the best books I have ever read. When you first start you may think that this is a cheesy "Mary Sue" type book with a boring main character. After you get a few chapters in you realize that this book has more to it then you initiallly think. There is a riveting mystery laying under a otherwise pretty innocent plot line. It is a fantastically written book with a great mystery.
