Nathan has a terrible day at school, but weird Abigail, who never talked to anyone and sat at the table of the doomed, tells Nathan about a formula her uncle created called Hurt-Be-Gone. It was supposed to make you have no bad feelings and no worries, but everything went totally wrong, when he gets splashed with Hurt-Be-Gone, and Abigail's uncle gets arrested. A few days later, Nathan notices he can't get hurt, he can't get hungry or digest his food, or run out of breath. Nathan, Abigail, and his friend Mookie, are on their own to try to find a cure for Nathan. The first ingredient is a scale off of a rare fish that they get from an aquarium. They second is a common mushroom they find in the woods. The third is a type of purple jewel that Shawna, the girl Nathan has had a crush on since third grade, has on her charm bracelet. After they get all of these except the purple jewel, Abigail confesses she lied about the last two ingredients to spent more time with them and go to Shawna's Halloween party. They put a band-aid with the cure on it on the bottom of Nathan's foot. (The only part of him that is still living) But Abigail goes home early from Shawna's party, and when Nathan and Mookie walk to her house, it is burning to the ground, with Abigail still inside it. Nathan has to take off the band-aid to save Abigail from the vicious flames. Even though, he has to live dead for the rest of his life, he's very glad he saved her.

Opinion:

This hilarious nightmare is so worth reading! I finished it in two days, I couldn't put it down. It shows you don't have to be popular to be happy. Mookie is the craziest of friends. Abigail has an awesome name. This book is probably the funniest book I have ever read. I loved this book!
