LitPick Review
Princess Alera must choose a man to marry before her eighteenth birthday. As much as she would like to believe that it's her decision, her father, the King of Hytanica has already selected the man to succeed him and take the throne. Much to her dismay, Alera must put up with the arrogant Lord Steldor while she keeps her real feelings for the new boy Narian a secret. Alera knows she would fail her family and the kingdom if she was to choose the Cokyri boy from the enemy nation over her charming fiancé to be. Now that her future is set out in front of her everything feels hopeless. Alera must pick between her feelings and duty before the Kingdom and everyone in it falls before her.
Opinion:
Cayla Kluver did an incredible job writing this! The descriptions were amazing, and I felt as if I was able to see every line of thread and stitching in the girls' ball gowns. Every character came to life as if I were watching a movie in my head. Throughout the book I developed feelings for each of the characters which made it really fun finding out what happened to them during all the twists in the story. This book made me feel like I was living in the Castle sneaking amongst the guards to watch the fabulous parties the Queen hosted. I definitely recommend this book. I can't wait for book two!
