This prequel of The Killer Angels begins before the start of the Civil War; it goes all the way through the first part of the war and stops at the beginning of Gettysburg. It mainly follows four men, Robert E. Lee, Winfield Scott Hancock,

Opinion:

I found Gods and Generals to be another great historical fiction from the Shaara family.  If you like U.S. history, I highly recommend this book and the entire series.  The Shaara's have a great writing style that helps you learn while you read.  Great book.
