LitPick Review
Sixteen-year-old Maddie Hickman, editor of the school newspaper, recieves a letter. This is how Anonymous started. Maddie knows this is a boy because he has one problem. He is gay. At another school nearby a kid was recently killed because people found out he was gay. This letter is now in the hands of Maddie's English teacher, Mrs. Leahy. This "Anonymous" is also being harassed by his latest ex. Peter and Susan, Maddie's best friends, are always there to stand behind what she believes in. One night at Peter's house, things get out of hand. Why? Maddie decides she wants Peter after Peter gives her a bath because Maddie had recently thrown up. Only Peter doesn't feel the same back, so when she tears off her robe he moves to put it back on. This is when Maddie realizes the "Anonymous" could be right in front of her, right next to her each day. Will Maddie realize what is right in front of her eyes? Find out when you read, "Fear of Falling".
Opinion:
I thought this book was very good. It includes how to deal with personal situations such as taking out of hand things to a teacher. Of course, only in the sixth grade, I'm pretty sure I don't need to worry about these problems yet. I wish Maddie had found out sooner who "Anonymous" was, then she and Susan wouldn't have had to go through with their plan to fix this and make things wrong with Peter.
