Fairy Navigator Runa by Miyoko Ikeda is about a girl
named Runa Rindo, who was left in front of Children of the
Stars School, a school for foster children, as a baby. She
was found wearing a mysterious pendant. When we catch up
with Runa in this book, strange things are beginning to
happen to this fourth-grader. An example is her friend
mysteriously disappearing. Only time will tell when she
finds her secret powers and begins her adventure as the
Legendary Fairy Child!

Opinion:

My opinion on this book was that
it was strange but good. The book is manga style, so I had
to read it from right to left, which was awkward for me.
Miss Ikeda also put in some "commentary" at the beginning
of each chapter, which was cool. The author made me feel
that the main character, Runa Rindo, was real because she
made her have thoughts and feelings, like love and pain. I
would recommend this book to others because it is
suspenseful and a good read.

Explain your content rating:

I gave this book a content rating of 2 for two reasons. One, on the back of the book, it said it is rated T and it is for ages 13 and up. Unfortunately, I didn't find that out until I received the book. A second reason is that it shows a little bit of blood.
