LitPick Review
Cassie's life seems to be falling apart and it all starts with her brother, Sef, going to Iraq to fight in the war. After he leaves her mom is like a zombie, her sister is always with her no good boyfriend, her best friend stops talking to her, and her little brother who has Down's Syndrome stops talking for no good reason. She constantly feels like she can't breathe and just wants her brother to come back home. It isn't until she finds Blue Sky's blog that she starts to feel better. They email each other back and forth and Cassie is more informed about what really is going on overseas. Slowly her family starts growing together but she knows it will never be the same as it was before.
Opinion:
Dear Blue Sky was a great book that really taught me a lot about the Iraq war. I thought that everything Blue Sky said was very interesting and I loved that Cassie could pour her heart out to this girl she didn't even really know. Reading the book, I almost felt like I was a part of Cassie's life and family. It was a very easy book to read and it flowed really well.
