The main character of this book is a high schooler named June. The story begins as June and her father (a wildlife activist) go to investigate a recent oil spill and find something very unexpected caught in the oil: mermaids! Throughout the rest of the book, June has to deal with troubles with her best friend, some big life decisions, and a rather mysterious scientist. But the biggest question is this: can June and her friends save the mermaids? Read this interesting book to find out!
Opinion:
The thing I liked most about this book was that it had an interesting plot with some exciting twists. I was a little bit disappointed, though, because as I was reading, I didn’t really feel connected to the action. The book also had a few grammatical errors. I would recommend this book for someone 12+ who enjoys wildlife and realistic fiction.
