The Captain by Chris Kreie is about a high school soccer player named Malik. Malik’s coach and some friends are suspended from the soccer team because of a cheating scandal they are involved in. Malik is trying to determine the truth on how and why they cheated. He is continuing to play soccer and trying to not let this scandal get in the way of his performance.

Opinion:

This book is an entertaining and interesting book because the author writes and describe the soccer game. He gives the problem and makes Malik solve the truth of the cheating scandal.  The author writes in a way that the reader is able to relate to the characters' feelings of being confused, in shock, and frustrated that the people he trusted are cheaters. I recommend this book to teenagers who enjoy soccer and mysteries.
