LitPick Review
Emily goes to St. Andrews University, where she meets and falls in love with Prince William. They get engaged and then married. The novel goes through their lives almost day to day, with many of the hurdles of life. Of course as William is the Prince, and later becomes King, Emily also has to deal with press related stuff and other royal engagements. The novel also follows the lives of their relatives and close friends, and is told by an unknown narrator.
Opinion:
Although it's a long book, it was very entertaining. I liked it much more than I thought. The writing sounded a bit forced and really formal in the beginning but you get used to it pretty quickly. The British aspect of the book seemed real, but as Emily was portrayed to be an American raised girl, she certainly did not act like any teenager I know. Everything was a lot more formal in her life than you would expect it to be. But until the last chapter or so it's a very interesting book. The author did a great job in keeping our attention. The end was a bit weird because suddenly the narrator started telling what happened to every single relative of the royal family. Overall, a good book the first time you read it, after that, not as appealing.
