The book, Beyond the Deepwoods, is the beginning of a promising series. There is a boy, Twig, who was raised by a family of wood trolls in the Deepwoods of the Edge. It is a world full of magical creatures and strange surprises at the edge of the world. He has always been different, not as strong or big as the other wood trolls. One day, his mother tells him that he was found as a baby outside of their home and that he really wasn't a wood troll. So he set of on a journey to find his real parents. Along the way, he befriends a caterbird, a talking bird who helps Twig, a blunderbear who saves him, and many other magical creatures. To find out what happens to Twig, read the book.

Opinion:

This is one of my favorite books of all time. The plot is extremely interesting and full of surprises, both slightly expected and completely unexpected. I just couldn't put it down. I read this book and it's sequel in just a day! Its ending was perfect. I recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy, surprises, action, and drama in books. This is just a great overall book!
