LitPick Review
Betsy Nelson has left New York to help nurse her father back to health, after he experienced a potentially deadly heart attack. The worst part is that her father has to give up his preaching job, which she knows he loved. Betsy already detest whatever man takes her fathers place, at least until that man ends up being the very handsome and charming Pastor William Covington. William Covington III is excited to have finally found a job, preaching to the small congregation of Walnutport, Pennsylvania, and he can't wait to leave behind his family's money and social status. Before he can even get settled in, though, it seems everyone in Walnutport is trying to find him a wife, especially with their single daughters. William has been left at the alter before, though, and he refuses to try and find a wife again, which was easy, until he met the beautiful Betsy Nelson.
Opinion:
I really enjoyed Bestsy's Return, by Wanda E. Brunster. The cover wasn't interesting, so I was skeptical before reading it, but it ended up being a really good book. I liked that there wasn't any mature language, or sexual content, but it was still an interesting romance. It was refreshing to read, I enjoyed how it was a Christain-based book, and how well- developed the characters were. This book was a quick read, not very long, and very simple. I would describe it as a historic romance. I liked watching the characters develop, and the flashbacks showed how far they had come. I thought it was an amazing book, and would recommend it to any one who likes romances, or early American history.
