The Boy Who Swam With Piranhas is written by David Almond. It is a wonderful tale about a boy whose uncle decides to turn his house into a fish canning factory. His nephew, Stanley, runs away to a circus where he feels that he belongs. The characters and storyline in this book are a little different, even quirky.  I think that is why I found it to be such an engaging story.
