In the novel, Suck It Up and Die, by Brian Meehl, the main characters are Morning McCobb, Portia Dredful, and DeThanatos. About one year after defeating DeThanatos at the Mother Forest, a vampire claiming to be his brother comes looking for revenge. Meanwhile, Morning is working to achieve his Lifer dream of becoming a firefighter. With the End Is Upon Us Ball coming up, Morning needs to find a way to defeat the vengeful vampire and get his eternal beloved back.

Opinion:

I thought this was wonderful. I really liked the original characters and the new take on vampirism. I also liked the plot of the book, which lead to a bittersweet ending. The characters were original in the sense of having very different personalities and outlooks on life. What I liked the most was how Morning cured his vampirism by achieving his dreams from when he was human.
