The Whisperer is a book about two thirteen year old boys named Lute and Griff, who live in Drestonia.  Griff is the son of a poor falconer.  He lives with his father and two older brothers.  One day, a traveling show comes to their small town.  The show amazes Griff's two older brothers so much that they choose to join the show.  Griff goes with them.
