LitPick Review
This is the best of the best. No really, it is. The Year's Best Science Fiction, Twenty- Eighth Annual Collection, is a bunch of science fiction short stories, as the title would suggest. This book includes many different authors. From Tad Williams, who wrote books like The Shadow March Series, and The War of the Flowers, to Cory Doctorow who wrote things like For the Win, and Makers. This book has something for everyone. There are thirty plus short stories, which means you're bound to find something you like. It has everything from futuristic settings to aliens and much more. The story "The Spontaneous Knotting of an Agitated String" by Lavie Tidhar is a story about a device that you can transport a memory into and then only be able to remember it by placing the device on your forehead. There is also a story called "Again and Again and Again" by Rachel Swirsky, that is about a society that develops some strange fashion sense - where cutting off your own finger would be just like wearing earrings today.
Opinion:
I truly liked this book. It had a variety of different stories. It was also great because it was something you could easily pick up, read a story or two when you're bored, and not have to worry about having to read a long novel. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes science fiction, especially those who don't have time to read a long book. These stories will definitely keep you entertained for a while.
