When Andy finds out that there may be a gun in his school he is determined to see if the rumors are true. At first he hesitates to steal his father's janitor keys, but finally he does and is surprised to see what lies in Blake's locker: nothing. Could it be too late? Would he have to try to save someone he didn't even know before these rumors started? This gun seems to bring the two boys together and after a few days of playing video games and sitting together at lunch they form a friendship. Even though Andy finally has his first friend there is something going through his mind that is worrying him. A day was blacked out on Blake's calendar. He wasn't quite sure what it meant exactly and was scared to find out. Unlocked is a great story of friendship and shows what it's like to be an outsider.

Opinion:

Unlocked was an amazing book for me to read. Ryan Van Cleave put it in a poem format that made it quick and easy to read. The story line made it hard for me to stop reading. Everything flowed together great even though the book looked like a bunch of random poems put together. I'd recommend this book to middle school and up because of the mild language, but overall it was an awesome book.
