Benito's dad was sent into Iraq. Benito remembers how much fun he had with his dad before the war. But when his dad comes back home, it is clear that he is not the same. He has nightmares and sees threats everywhere. He even freaks out about a soccer ball. When his dad embarrasses him at a party, that's the last straw. Benito decides to run away. He leaves right when his dad gets diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Will Benito succeed in running away? Will his relationship with his dad improve?
Opinion:
This was a poorly written book. The impression I got was that the author didn't care about the book being of decent quality. I thought that, with a few changes, this could be a bestseller. The story in this book would fit 250 pages at least but it was squeezed into 99 pages. I feel like the author shoved a big story into a small book. Frequently, it felt like the author was leaving out detail to finish the book. In addition, the author contradicts what she said earlier. From what I read about the author, she wants to write 1,001 books. If the other 1,000 books are like this, I do not intend to read any of them. I cannot recommend this book to others.
