Running away is the only option.Benito's father, Xavier, had been in Iraq for more than a year. When he returns, Benito's family life is not the same. Xavier suffers from PTSD—post-traumatic stress disorder—and yells constantly. He causes such a scene at a school function that Benny is embarrassed to go to back to Southside High. Benny can't handle seeing his dad so crazy, so he decides to run away. Will Benny find a new life? Or will he learn how to deal with his dad—through good times and bad?

Benito's dad was sent into Iraq. Benito remembers how much fun he had with his dad before the war. But when his dad comes back home, it is clear that he is not the same. He has nightmares and sees threats everywhere. He even freaks out about a soccer ball. When his dad embarrasses him at a party, that's the last straw. Benito decides to run away. He leaves right when his dad gets diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Will Benito succeed in running away? Will his relationship with his dad improve?
